When our clients approached us with a rough vision for their home, a property that was a blank canvas, with only the existing floor to work with, it presented us with the perfect opportunity to unleash our creativity and work our magic. When our clients spoke of simplicity, warmth and cosiness we knew we had to jump headfirst into the world of Japandi style. With careful attention to detail, we crafted a home that perfectly balances the delicate fusion between Japanese and Scandinavian design.

Our client had a specific request for a table that could accommodate many, and we rose to rise to the challenge immediately. We knew that we had to create something truly special — when the family is all gathered round, we wanted a showstopper piece that would be the focal point for creating memories and hosting beautiful moments. So! We designed a table from scratch, working with two different vendors, making sure the finished product not only was made specifically with our clients functionality requirements in mind, but also suited the Japandi style down to a T.
We started by selecting a base from the exquisite collection at Gamar, known for their modern woodwork. But a table is only as good as its top, so we went the extra mile and sourced the perfect slab of travertine from Stone Works to create a stunning and durable surface.
And the biggest eye catcher of this area is definitely "The Big Leap", the giant art piece from Curated by Make Room which features an incredible mix of flowing charcoal coloured figures and lines that perfectly capture the full spectrum of emotions that we feel when taking a leap of faith in life. This piece is the work of the talented artist Chris Lilly James, whose work is renowned for its stunning blend of emotion and expression.

Because our clients love hosting and gathering as a family, we also designed a custom-built bar and storage unit that seamlessly blends in with the rest of the decor. Not at all built ins are created equal! From the sleek and modern design, to the high-quality materials and finishes, this piece truly has it all.
On to the living room! With a large sofa that commands attention and a striking marble coffee table that is both functional and fashionable, this space is sure to impress. And not forgetting the custom carpentry, which exudes warmth and sophistication with its laminate finish and tongue and groove detailing. And who doesn't love some handy dandy storage? The cupboard and open shelf are the perfect combination for practical storage and chic styling. Imagine curling up on that sofa with a good book, surrounded by the beauty and comfort of this gorgeous living room. It's the ultimate in relaxation and style, and you won't want to leave!
But wait, it get's better. The living area boasts a breathtaking fountain. Our clients wanted to maximise the use of their outdoor area, and the pre-existing black framed sliding doors separating the indoor and outdoor spaces came in handy! The custom shade of microcement adds a touch of sophistication to the space, while the beautifully tiled fountain creates a tranquil ambiance that is perfect for relaxation. Not only that, but the lounge area provides the ultimate space to unwind and soak up the beauty of this amazing oasis.
Let's wrap up our tour of this stunning home with a visit to the master bedroom! First, the lime wash feature wall catches the eye, imbuing the space with a touch of natural charm. And we can't forget the custom bed frame from Blafink showcasing the perfect fusion of beauty and functionality. And you might have noticed how we didn't add in a rug. Seeing the rich colour of the floor, we had to let it speak through! It all adds up to a true masterpiece, a great addition to the Japandi magic, that celebrates the perfect blend of Japanese minimalism and Scandinavian coziness.
We all know that linen panels provide excellent ventilation and can make furniture feel less heavy and bulky. But did you know that you can achieve this look for a fraction of the cost by using Ikea curtains as your fabric? Yes, you heard that right! With this simple hack, you can enjoy the benefits of linen wardrobe panels without breaking the bank.
