Barbara's Home Reveal Part 4: My Scandi Neutral Escape

Now that we've what used to be my old bedroom, it only made sense to show you my new bedroom! This room used to be my youngest daughters bedroom with bold pink and neon yellow wallpaper, so it's safe to say the walls alone have gone through a massive transformation. I'll dig up some before pics, so keep you eyes peeled on Instagram for some good before and afters!

This room was all about keeping it neutral and simple, acting as a peaceful escape from the rest of the house. It's no secret I love colour, but I also really appreciate tonality, textures and neutrals, so it was fun playing around with that in my bedroom. The main element of design work came down to the space planning and carpentry, allowing me to get creative with the styling. All the decisions and choices made were super intentional — the shape of the handles, the material of the light fixtures, the texture of the desk chair, so it was really fun to be playful and creative in such a specific way.

The whole room seems to revolve around my full height, wall to wall wardrobe designed to fit perfectly around my bed. I love how graphic element of the linen panels, but the linen also helps make the room feel a lot lighter and not so built in. We added in a headboard in a tongue and groove finish, and I have to say, I love the simplicity of not having a cluttered bedside table.

Make sure to pop on over to our Instagram to take a peek at the room tour, coming soon!
