Barbara's Home Reveal Part 1: Japandi Kitchen

I may not be much of a chef, but I know a bad kitchen when I see one! And while my kitchen "before" wasn't the worst in the world, it was not functioning for us as a busy, hungry family of 5 (plus a few extras)! It's a petite space so careful space planning was absolutely vital in making sure this kitchen reached it maximum potential, and I'm glad to say, I finally have my dream kitchen!

In case you didn't know, I live in a rental so I couldn't do *everything*, so we had to be smart about what and how we did things. We dismanted and disposed of all the existing carpentry, but didn't hack the wall for floor tiles. Instead, I found a really great stick-on backsplash, which was the icing on the cake in finishing off the wabi-sabi look. Best of all, we are now the proud owners of a beautiful Bertazzoni cooker which totally steals the show and elevates the entire look of this kitchen! With integrated handles, a colour palette of walnut wood, black and beige, and warm, natural looking materials, we've dreamed up the perfect japandi kitchen that will stand the test of time (and a little wear and tear from the rucus that is bound to occur with this family of mine)!

If you've been following along on Instagram, you'll know I have saved all my home renovation to my highlights so you can tap through the design process as I went along. Head on over to get a peek into the whole process and keep your eyes peeled for my room tour video on Instagram, too!
